ITAQ and CINTECH join forces to enhance training for food industry professionals
THE INSTITUT DE TECHNOLOGIE AGROALIMENTAIRE DU QUÉBEC (ITAQ) AND CINTECH ANNOUNCE A STRATEGIC COLLABORATION AIMED AT DEVELOPING A RANGE OF CERTIFIED TRAINING COURSES TO MEET THE EVOLVING NEEDS OF THE AGRI-FOOD INDUSTRY. THIS ALLIANCE WILL GIVE COMPANIES AND PROFESSIONALS IN THE SECTOR ACCESS TO STATE-OF-THE-ART EQUIPMENT, SPECIALIZED EXPERTISE AND AN ENVIRONMENT CONDUCIVE TO THE PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION OF LEARNERS.
This collaboration is structured around three major initiatives:
- A range of specialized training courses in appertization and process authority will be offered to reinforce skills related to food safety, an essential priority for processors. This training will equip participants to act as process authorities in their establishments, in accordance with current regulatory standards.
- The development of a training offer dedicated to food ingredients and powders, as part of the creation of the Ingredients and Powders Center at Cintech. This center brings together in a single location the necessary expertise in the manufacture, handling, safety, characterization and analysis of powders – a dominant format in food formulations.
- Access to production capacity, from commercial kitchens to industrial production lines in various agri-food sectors, thanks to the infrastructures of Cintech, its industrial partners and ITAQ. This will enable students to acquire unique field skills that will form the basis of their career path, in addition to proposing a new offer to the market to develop products from the artisanal to the industrial scale, testing the market, adapting and validating new formulations.
By focusing on this integrated approach to the challenges facing key players in the industry, ITAQ and Cintech aim to reduce the obstacles to innovation created by current uncertainties, by repatriating technical and technological expertise to Quebec, while supporting innovation, new approaches and the competitiveness of the agri-food industry.
