Cintech and AG-Bio Centre combine their expertise to support food companies

CINTECH AGROALIMENTAIRE AND AG-BIO CENTER ANNOUNCE A COLLABORATION THAT WILL ENABLE THEM TO OFFER A COMPLETE RANGE OF TECHNICAL CONSULTING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SERVICES TO START-UP AND GROWING AGRI-FOOD BUSINESSES.

This two (2) year partnership aims to create added value for agri-food companies through the following six (6) strategic axes: support for companies in carrying out their R&D, sensory and consumer research projects, quality assurance and regulatory support, support for companies in strategic and commercial development, partnership and sharing of local, national and international networks, promotion and animation among companies and partners, referencing of potential customer files, and exploration of joint projects with common customers.

The two companies will also be setting up an agri-food entrepreneurship acceleration and incubation program focused on plant-based protein products, in support of a major plant protein initiative to be announced shortly. In its first year, the project will support a cohort of around ten companies. The program includes a product development phase, as well as mentoring, demonstration and networking activities. Incubates will be able to develop plant-based protein products with a business, marketing and financing plan. This unique incubator and gas pedal program will bring new dynamism to Canadian agri-food entrepreneurs and start-ups.

The two companies, well established in their respective regions of Montérégie and Chaudière Appalaches, have already drawn up a work plan. Cintech will contribute its expertise in food processing, technology transfer, sensory and consumer research, quality assurance and regulatory services, while AG-Bio Centre will contribute its expertise in assisting start-up and growing companies with business strategy development, financial planning and new product ideas to market. Cintech agroalimentaire and AG-Bio Centre invite companies wishing to benefit from technical advice in agri-food and business development to contact the two organizations.

“We are delighted with this new collaboration with AG-Bio Centre. This pooling of our complementary expertise will contribute to the success of start-up and growing agri-food businesses. This partnership comes at an opportune time, as we recently received financial support from the government, enabling food processing companies to benefit from our new acquisitions and extensive support to innovate, stand out and integrate the Quebec food market.”
Jean Lacroix, CEO, Cintech agroalimentaire

“AG-Bio Centre is proud of this partnership, which will enable us to offer agri-food companies a rich and comprehensive range of services. By combining our two areas of expertise, incubated companies will be able to benefit from both AG Bio Centre’s unique, tailor-made support and Cintech’s product development expertise. This collaboration is undoubtedly the key to leading start-ups towards entrepreneurial autonomy and creating Quebec success stories.”
Maxime Jean, President and CEO, AG-Bio Centre
